Will Sasha Cohen Compete in Vancouver Olympics?
It certainly looks like Sasha Cohen is going to try to be a member of the 2010 Olympic figure skating team. That’s pretty amazing considering she hasn’t skated competitively since right after the last Winter Olympics. But she has stated that she intends to skate at U.S. Nationals later this month in a bid to make the team.
You can watch the following interview to see what she had to say about her Olympic hopes:

If she has to join the olympics competition i think she has to decide right away. Perhaps she is in doubt because there are big best competitors she must face. Most of her competitors are from Asia skaters. To name them, Yuna Kim, Mao Asada, Miki Ando..etc. These skaters have titles respectively. Yuna Kim is currently the 2009 world champion and the champion in the Grand Pix finals. She won straight last year 2009. Nobody defeated her. She is a brilliant skater in the world now. She has all the talents, poise, grace and skills that a best skater must have. She’s the first female who broke the world record. The first female skater who surpassed more than 200 points in history. I think this coming olympics is the most incredible competition of all the skaters. Mao had just recovered her struggles last month during the Japan nationals competition. She got high scores but it doesn’t mean she is a perfect rival of Kim. Sasha Cohen must do her best also. Though Sasha has won the silver medal last 2006 but it was just before during her times. Today is different from her times. There are so many excellent skaters she must face. This olympics 2010 is very fun watch. Good luck to all skaters!
There is no way in frozen “h*ll” that she will make the team – and odds are that she won’t even compete in the Nationals next week.
Hey, Steve, why don’t you tell us what you really think?
Mawil, you could be right. Skating has changed a lot even in just the past few years.
